Internet of things

In many articles, the Internet of Things (IoT) is mentioned as the promise for 2018. According to Gartner, 20.8 billion devices will be “smart” in 2020. Everyday objects thus become an entity on the internet that can communicate with people and with other objects, and can make autonomous decisions based on this. The internet of things is made possible by a number of basic technologies. In 2018 we will work on two projects in this community:

IoT Maintenance: develop IoT Maintenance training

Develop IoT option

IoT Maintenance: develop IoT Maintenance training
Develop IoT option

The affiliated companies regularly provide a meetup or master class to students and teachers. If you are interested, look in the agenda and sign up.

IoT Maintenance

Sensors are one of the basic technologies. The number of sensors in the public space is expected to increase enormously. The sensors are expected to continuously provide information. If this transfer is disturbed, the sensor must be serviced, repaired or replaced. This work is still in its infancy. In the coming year, research will be conducted into the activities and their size in collaboration with the HvA.

The companies involved in this project are KPN, Volker Wessels Telecom, USG People, the municipality of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Arena.

Students who are interested in contributing to this project can send an email and / or pass this on to their teacher.

Develop IoT option

An IoT option is being developed in collaboration with the NASC foundation.
